Paws On Ice a resounding success!

In News, We Can't Do It Without You

We would like to thank everyone for coming on Saturday 10th March and making Paws On Ice a great success!

The children  enjoyed the experience on the ice together with the penguins, seals and our special dog mascot! We were so proud to see students both young and old try their best to skate as many laps as possible! It was wonderful to see some of last year’s participants, as well as welcoming new skaters this year. All participants proudly received a Gondolania certificate afterwards.

A few of the participants for notable mention include:

  • – Victor (Compass International School), who had the courage to have his first skating experience during this event, in front of a big crowd!
  • – Connor (DESS), who did an amazing job last year with the help of one of the penguins, but this year he was skating all by himself!
  • – Alba (Parkhouse), who handed us a generous donation she had raised by giving up birthday presents for donations to Paws!

Congratulations to our prize winners:

  • – Judy and Jana from English Modern School (winners ‘guessing game’)
  • – Kai Qi from Sherborne (winner ‘most progression on the ice’)
  • – Meredith Williams from Sherborne Qatar (winner ‘most funds raised’)
  • – Rachel from Doha College (winner ‘skated the most laps’)

We want to thank all students from the American School of Doha, Sherborne Qatar, Compass International School, Language One, ACS, DESS, English Modern School, Laurel Springs School, Doha College and Blyth Academy for joining and in their efforts to raise so many funds! Thank you to the older students from ASD for volunteering their time to help us with the event! And thank you to all those who sponsored our participants.

A huge heartfelt thank you to Kathy and all Gondolania staff (security, management, ice marshalls, photography team, mascot, skate staff and everyone else!) for caring about the good cause of Paws. Their support was so great to see. They put a huge effort in and the ice rink looked absolutely amazing! This was the first time we have experienced such involvement on an event, and on behalf of all the animals at Paws, thank you for being our sponsor!

Last but not least, thanks to Star and Dexter for cheering on participants! They both enjoyed all the cuddles from you all!

Hope to see you all again next year!
