Paws Rescue Qatar are thrilled to announce that Kings College Doha have chosen us as their charity of choice for the academic year 2018/19. This partnership is integral to building community relations and educating the children on the values of animal ownership, care and welfare.

The partnership includes a number of exciting initiatives over the course of the school year for the children to initiate and be involved in. So far the children have raised funds by running a bake sale and a second hand toy sale in school. Other great events are planned for the course of the year. So far these initiatives have been a massive success and the we are so proud of the children for being so engaged. Through this they have shown great creative and problem solving skills.

Marie Sibley, Head of School adds “We are delighted to be supporting this charity who do so much excellent work for animals in Qatar. Some of our staff are actively involved in walking dogs at PAWS and cuddling the cats! These teachers did a presentation for our students so that the children could see exactly where our money is going and there was a palpable feeling of empathy as the children listened and watched photographs of the animals. It is important to us as a school for students to give back to the local and wider community and this is one way in which we can do just that.”

Education is one of the key investment pillars of Qatar’s 2030 vision and this is something both Kings College Doha and Paws Rescue Qatar hold close to our hearts. A special thanks also to the teachers and the members of the PTA who are involved in driving this project. We look forward to a fun and fruitful academic year!
